In the original novel, one of Dr. Claire’s first assignments was to investigate a possible case of a vampire, which was going to involve finding out what happened to Mr. Lobo.

Dr. Layton was originally going to be the author of the entire novel, but there were some changes to keep it clean.

When Dr. Layton took over the script for the upcoming sixth book, he replaced the editor with another editor who had previously been a former editor of The Bunch and the Vampire Chronicles, Dr. Bruce Egan.

Dr. Thomas Gaviria is voiced by Anthony M. Miller; who also plays Professor Gaviria’s nemesis, also plays the vampire Dr. Lobo. A version of Dr. Gaviria also appeared in the third book, The Black Death, which was a non-canonical novel in fact, but wasn’t actually published.
